Job summary

Tenaska is seeking an Instrument and Electrical (I&E) Technician to perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting on major plant equipment, control systems, and emissions monitoring gear. The role requires meticulous attention to safety and reliability in a high-voltage environment.

The ideal candidate has formal Instrument Technician training, strong reading of blueprints, and solid communication skills to report conditions and improvements to supervision and peers.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited Instrument Technician Program; two years' related work experience desirable.
• Ability to read blueprints and work from schematics.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to work well with others.
• Experience with voltages up to 6900 volts highly desired.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on all major equipment and systems.
• Inspect, repair, install and remove motors, generators, transformers, breakers, switches, and wiring.
• Maintain calibration of field instrumentation, transmitters, and valves.
• Operate and troubleshoot plant control systems (DCS, MkV).
• Maintain equipment files and drawings.
