Job summary

Austin Industrial is seeking an I&E Technician in Freeport, TX to maintain and troubleshoot process instrumentation, control loops, and PLC systems. You will calibrate, test, and repair instruments, read schematics and P&ID drawings, and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.

Qualified candidates have 3–5 years journeyman experience, NCCER certification, a State Electrical License, and the ability to work in industrial environments with lifting requirements up to 50 pounds and safety-focused

Qualifications

Education: High school diploma or GED; 1–3 years related experience; NCCER certified and State Electrical License; Plant Maintenance experience preferred.
Certifications/Licenses: NCCER, TDLR Electrical License, and DL.
Experience: 3–5 years of Journeyman level experience.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States; no visa sponsorship offered.
Ability to read manuals, blueprints, schematics; knowledge of PLCs and electrical safety.

Responsibilities

Calibrate, troubleshoot, repair, and replace process instruments as part of the maintenance program.
Maintain process instruments including valves, vibration monitors and other devices.
Test pneumatic instruments and controllers for leaks and proper operation.
Troubleshoot instrumentation across electrical, pneumatic, electronic, and PLC systems.
Read one-line schematics, P&IDs, and ladder diagrams for diagnostics.
Perform field calibration of transmitters, controllers, transducers, valves, and recorders.
