Job summary

Cabot Corporation seeks an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to support on-site maintenance of chemical processing equipment. You will perform complex electrical and instrumentation tasks, troubleshoot control systems, and ensure compliance with safety and site procedures.

You will collaborate with maintenance teams and contractors, updating CMMS with actions taken and helping drive improvements in reliability, production efficiency and cost control.

Qualifications

• Technical expert in instrumentation for chemical processing plants; training provided to stay current.
• Knowledgeable of electrical power systems including variable speed motors and MCCs.
• Understanding of ladder logic and first-line maintenance on PLC and DCS control systems.
• Working knowledge of hazardous area classifications (DSEAR/ATEX).
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and data sheets for troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with safe systems of work on site, including risk assessments and SOPs.
• Perform complex electrical and instrumentation tasks for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and repair of process equipment.
• Update CMMS records with labour, parts, materials, defects, and corrective actions.
• Develop and implement maintenance procedures, risk assessments, and preventive maintenance programmes.
• Collaborate with Mechanical Technicians, Operations, Engineering, and Contractors to meet site goals.
• Supervise contractors during shutdowns and ensure work plans meet Cabot standards.
• Assist in troubleshooting and continuous improvement of site equipment and procedures.
• Support maintenance of site control systems (DCS, SIS, PLCs, Aspen) and associated devices.
