Position: Instrument and Electrical Technician (Journeyman)

The technician is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and installing instrumentation and electrical equipment.

Accountabilities:

Safety:

• Commit to learning, following, and practicing INEOS 20 Principles of Process & Behavioral Safety.
• Follow standard procedures to ensure safety, environmental compliance, and quality.
• Develop programs to reduce work-related illnesses and injuries, and improve productivity.
• Maintain adherence to environmental, health, safety regulations, rules, and procedures.
• Participate actively in safety performance improvements.
• Promote continual safety and asset reliability improvements.

Maintenance:

• Work with systems like plant lighting, thermostats, and programmable controllers to repair and install instrumentation and electrical components.
• Perform tests, calibrations, and checks to ensure accurate readings and performance.
• Read electrical schematics, diagrams, and ladder logic for troubleshooting.
• Disassemble and reassemble complex systems based on specifications and blueprints.
• Support site profitability, compliance, and quality through maintenance and asset improvement initiatives.
• Troubleshoot asset issues and propose reliability improvements.
• Use calibration software and maintain accurate records in CMMS.

Required Profile:

Education & Knowledge:

• Associate degree in Instrumentation or related field.

Experience & Skills:

• Completion of a 5-year apprenticeship.
• At least 3 years of related experience.
• Knowledge of instrumentation, controls, troubleshooting, motors, and control circuits.
• Familiarity with DCS (e.g., Invensys I/A, Emerson Delta V) and PLCs (e.g., Modicon, Rockwell).
• Ability to obtain TWIC card before employment.
• Skills in life-critical processes like LOTO, working at heights, hot work, confined space entry, energized electrical work.

Behavioral Skills:

• Basic proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook.
