Job summary

The Mundy Companies, a leader in industrial maintenance, services, and construction, seeks an I&E Technician for a long-term role in Pasadena, TX. You will install, repair, and calibrate measuring and control instruments, with a focus on PLC-driven systems and instrumentation calibration.

Qualified candidates have at least three years in the field, strong safety awareness, and the ability to read blueprints and P&ID diagrams. Excellent manual dexterity with precision tools is essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with PLCs is required.

Responsibilities

• Read and work from related blueprints and P&ID's.
• Install and calibrate analyzers, transmitters, controllers, positioners and other instruments.
• Install and calibrate tubing related to instrumentation.
• Test devices and calibrate to specifications using precision tools.
• Set controls to regulate current flow, pressure, temperature or vacuum per specs.
• Identify malfunctioning devices and route for reworks or salvage parts.

Job description

The Mundy Companies,a leader in the industrial maintenance, services, and construction fields, is currently hiring the following for a long-term position in the Pasadena, Texas area:

I & E TECHNICIAN

5x8's (OT may be required)

Qualified candidates will possess a minimum of three (3) years of relevant industrial experience.

Job Functions:

Install, repair, maintain, inspect, and calibrate indicating recording, telemetering, and controlling instruments used to measure and control variables such as pressure, flow, temperature, motion, force and chemical composition, using precision instruments and hand tools. Experience with PLCs is required.

Major Duties & Responsibilities:

1. Read and work from related blueprints and P&ID's.
2. Install and calibrate various types of analyzers.
3. Install and calibrate transmitters, transducers, controllers, positioners, actuators, and other recording, indicating, or controlling instruments.
4. Cut, bend, and install tubing related to instrumentation.
5. May read quality control manuals and testing specifications to obtain data to test or calibrate specific devices.
6. May set controls to regulate factors such as current flow, timing cycle, pressure, temperature or vacuum, according to specifications.
7. May reject malfunctioning device and route to specified departments for re-works or salvaging of parts.
8. May disassemble instrument or device to determine cause of defective operation.

Physical Demands and Schedule

Works both indoors and outdoors, may include extreme hot or cold weather conditions. Spends most of the work day standing on feet, requires stooping, bending, squatting. May require working in cramped and uncomfortable positions. May be required to climb about machinery and climb ladders, scaffolds, and catwalks.

The successful candidate will maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all time. This position requires a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement with the ability to follow written and verbal instructions in a safe, efficient manner. The ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing is also required. All qualified applicants must be craft certified or possess the ability to pass a craft test, as well as the ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, and other qualifications as required.
