Job summary

Linde plc in Freeport, TX is seeking a skilled process instrumentation technician to perform safe maintenance and startup of plant electrical and control systems. Responsibilities

• Perform work safely and in accordance with Linde’s policies and procedures.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and perform minor repairs on low voltage electrical systems (600VAC and below).
• Troubleshoot, calibrate, and maintain pneumatic and electronic analog and digital process control instrumentation.
• Test / repair Predictive program instrumentation and document repair history in CMMS.
• Troubleshoot systems using control logic drawings related to process control.
• Perform startup, shutdown, and operation of process plant equipment.
• Calibrate and maintain process analytical equipment, including Thermal Conductivity, Gas Chromatograph, and Electrolytic process analyzers.
• Schedule and perform activities related to operation and maintenance of electrical and electronic control systems, pneumatics, instrumentation, control valves, motor control systems, low voltage electrical distribution, interfaces, and analytical equipment.
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair automatic control valves.
• Ensure spare parts are available or replace them when used/installed.
• Maintain a high degree of personal safety and environmental awareness at all times.
• Climb ladders, stairways, and operate man-lifts for elevated instrumentation and control valve maintenance.
• Instruct contract personnel on safety rules and regulations and supervise to ensure compliance.

• Associate’s in Applied Sciences or equivalent apprenticeship (preferred).
• Three (3) years of related experience in process control instrumentation.
• Proficiency with a variety of I/E hand tools, meters, and instrument calibration equipment.
• Working knowledge of electricity, electrical systems, and motors.
• Ability to read and understand P&ID’s and schematic wiring diagrams.
• Strong organization and planning skills.
• Written and oral communication skills.
