Job summary

Linde Inc. in Port Arthur, TX is seeking an I&E Technician to perform maintenance, calibration, and troubleshooting of electrical and instrumentation systems. This role requires hands-on experience with low voltage electrical work, control valves, and analytical instrumentation.

The candidate will read P&ID and schematic wiring diagrams, document repairs in CMMS, and coordinate maintenance activities with the team, while adhering to safety regulations and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or apprenticeship preferred.
• 3+ years experience in process instrumentation and control.
• Experience with instrumentation calibration and electrical hand tools.
• Ability to read electrical diagrams and instrumentation schematics.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair low voltage electrical systems (600VAC and below) and automatic control valves.
• Calibrate and maintain pneumatic, electronic, and process instrumentation including analyzers.
• Use control logic drawings to troubleshoot process control systems and document repairs in the CMMS.
• Schedule and perform maintenance for electrical, pneumatic, instrumentation, motor control, and analytical systems.
• Ensure safety and train contract personnel on compliance.

What you will enjoy doing

• You will perform work safely following Linde's policies and procedures
• Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair low voltage electrical systems (600VAC and below) and automatic control valves
• Calibrate and maintain pneumatic, electronic, and process control instrumentation, including analytical equipment such as thermal conductivity and gas chromatograph analyzers
• Further, you will use control logic drawings to troubleshoot process control systems and document repairs in the CMMS system
• Schedule and execute maintenance for electrical, pneumatic, instrumentation, motor control, and analytical systems
• Climb ladders, stairways, and operate man-lifts for elevated maintenance while ensuring safety and instructing contract personnel on compliance

What makes you great

• You hold a High School Diploma or equivalent; Associate's degree in applied sciences or equivalent apprenticeship preferred
• Bring at least three years of experience in process control instrumentation
• Demonstrate proficiency with a variety of instrumentation and electrical hand tools, meters, and calibration equipment
• Possess working knowledge of electricity, electrical systems, and motors
• Read and interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams and schematic wiring diagrams accurately
• Exhibit strong organizational and planning abilities to manage tasks effectively
• Apply strong computer skills to support technical and administrative duties
• Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal formats
