Job summary

EPCO Corporate in Midland, TX seeks a Senior I&E Design Coordinator to lead design and drafting activities on large capital projects. You will coordinate with Project Managers, Field Engineering, Operations and Maintenance to drive project inception through completion.

The role requires mentoring of junior coordinators, strong CAD skills (AutoCAD), and a track record of coordinating complex plant or pipeline designs. Travel to facilities as needed will be required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalency with some college or technical school training.
• A two-year college drafting degree or technical schooling with emphasis on CADD design is preferred.
• Minimum of 8 years pertinent design experience with 5 years project coordination experience is required.
• Ability to mentor less experienced I&E Design Coordinators.
• Relevant level of drafting and design experience with some project coordination experience.
• Prefer strong plant and/or pipeline related design experience.
• Relevant level of CADD experience with recent AutoCAD experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate design and drafting management to ensure project completion.
• Provide PFD / P&ID symbology and tagging for drawings.
• Review and approve deviations from company drafting standards.
• Review third-party design packages for compliance with specs and codes.
• Prepare process flow diagrams, piping & instrument diagrams, layouts and lists.
• Assist in development of project scopes of work for contracts.
• Attend meetings to capture customer needs and define scope.
• Coordinate distribution of design packages to stakeholders.
• Mentor staff and support efficient daily operations.
