Job summary

Engtal in Austin is seeking an Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to own the I&C systems as we move from engineering into deployment. This role is hands-on and architecture-focused, not just code or drawings.

You will design, integrate, commission, and troubleshoot across instrumentation, PLCs, motors, VFDs, and electrical systems, with opportunities to grow into broader system ownership as the business scales.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in controls, automation, I&C or systems integration.
• Experience designing or integrating control systems from the ground up.
• PLC experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley or similar platforms.
• Hands-on instrumentation across pressure, temperature, flow, level or similar.
• Experience specifying/selecting instrumentation.
• Exposure to motors, MCCs, VFDs and industrial electrical systems.
• FAT, SAT, commissioning and field troubleshooting experience.
• Someone comfortable owning problems rather than passing them on.

Responsibilities

• Own the full I&C system architecture and deployment.
• Coordinate with vendors/integrators for FAT/SAT, commissioning and field support.
• Troubleshoot and resolve field issues across instrumentation and electrical systems.
• Drive design decisions and transition from engineering to deployment as the business scales.
