Job summary

LVI Associates seeks an experienced Controls & Instrumentation Lead to oversee capital projects from concept through completion. You will work closely with clients to define requirements, lead the instrumentation and controls scope, and ensure deliverables are completed on time and within budget.

You will develop instrumentation datasheets, coordinate with vendors, create loop drawings and control panels, and manage budgets with a clear focus on quality and client satisfaction.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering required.
  • 10+ years of controls/instrumentation experience in EPC/consulting/industrial settings.
  • Hands-on experience through design, construction, commissioning, and startup.
  • Strong understanding of FEED and detailed engineering processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all controls and instrumentation activities across the project lifecycle, from planning to startup.
  • Define, develop, and document project scope, schedules, and deliverables.
  • Specify and size instrumentation including transmitters, meters, valves, regulators, and actuators.
  • Develop instrumentation datasheets and coordinate with vendors for pricing and proposals.
  • Partner with process engineering to select appropriate instrumentation and control solutions.
  • Create loop drawings, schematics, termination diagrams, and related documentation.
  • Design custom control panels tailored to project requirements.
  • Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and identify scope changes.
  • Serve as primary client interface to meet expectations and project objectives.
  • Review engineering deliverables for quality and compliance with objectives.
  • Coordinate implementation activities, track progress, and support commissioning and startup.

Qualifications

  • Hands-on experience supporting major capital projects through design, construction, commissioning, and startup.
  • Proven ability to manage projects from initiation through completion while maintaining budget, schedule, and client satisfaction.
  • Strong understanding of front-end engineering design (FEED) and detailed engineering processes.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary project teams and coordinating with clients and vendors.
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD.
  • PLC programming experience is a plus.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with both clients and internal teams.
