Job summary

Novozen Healthcare LLC seeks an Instrumentation & Controls Lead for a contract role of 1 year with possible extensions. You will serve as the technical design lead across a large biopharmaceutical facility expansion, defining instrumentation requirements, specs, data, and installation standards while coordinating with automation, electrical, and process engineering teams.

The role requires hands-on experience with field instrumentation, valves, actuators, I/O, cabling, and termination design,

Qualifications

• 8+ years of instrumentation, controls, or automation engineering experience.
• Pharmaceutical/biotech or highly regulated manufacturing preferred.
• Experience supporting large capital projects, brownfield expansions, or plant modernization.
• Hands-on with field instrumentation, valves, actuators, I/O, cables, and termination design.
• Experience calibrating, performing loop testing, and instrumentation installation requirements.
• Proficiency in developing or reviewing instrumentation specifications, I/O docs, instrument indexes, loop drawings, and cable schedules.
• Experience integrating vendor-supplied process equipment with plant automation and control systems.
• Strong technical coordination and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical design for Instrumentation & Controls across a large biopharma facility expansion.
• Define instrumentation requirements, specs, data, and installation standards.
• Guide field instrumentation, valves, actuators, I/O, junction boxes, control panels, and cabling design.
• Coordinate I&C design with automation, electrical, process engineering, equipment, construction, and commissioning teams.
• Support vendor equipment by defining I&C requirements and interfaces, including skid applications.
• Identify gaps in instrumentation data, layouts, loop drawings, and vendor designs.
• Develop and review I&C design documentation and guide DB firms and integrators.
• Ensure designs comply with site standards, best practices, and project requirements.
