Job summary

MPR Associates, Inc. seeks an Instrumentation and Controls Engineer - Network Communications to join a multidisciplinary and growing engineering services team. The role focuses on networked control systems, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance across U.S.

and international clients. The position offers exposure to power, healthcare, and other industrial applications, with responsibilities spanning design, implementation, testing, and client engagement, based out of Virginia or Connecticut

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of I&C project experience in a systems engineering role.
• Experience with DCS/PLC and networked control systems and devices.
• Experience in renewable energy, energy storage, natural gas power, or oil and gas sectors.
• Familiarity with cyber security controls and protocols and mitigating cyber risks on field equipment.
• Familiarity with IEEE, IEC, and ISA standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, programming, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of ICS with networked architectures.
• Design, configure, and maintain industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Modbus, Profibus, OPC UA).
• Ensure regulatory and cybersecurity requirements (NERC CIP, ISA/IEC 62443) are met.
• Develop network diagrams, system architectures, and cybersecurity risk assessments.
• Mentor team members on network communication practices and technology implementations.
