Job summary

Edgewater Technical Associates, based in Aiken, SC, is seeking an I&C Engineer to support the Savannah River Site. The role emphasizes engineering analysis, design development and generation of design output documents essential for safe, compliant operations.

The candidate will produce P&IDs, loop diagrams, setpoint lists, DCS/PLC designs, and associated installation designs, while reviewing vendor documents to ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Nuclear, or I&C Engineering, or PE registered in one of these disciplines.
• Five years of design experience in nuclear or chemical process industries.
• Experience with PLCs and distributed control systems; field walk-down ability.

Responsibilities

Duties

• Provide support engineering services to include, but not limited to, engineering analysis, design development and generation of design output documents.
• Design output documents consist of P&IDs, control logics, loop diagrams, setpoint lists, instrument and control valve specifications, DCS and PLC design, instrument location and installation design, panel layouts, and vendor document review.

Education

• Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering,
• Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, I&C Engineering or current registration as a Professional Engineer in one of the above disciplines.

Experience/Skills

• Five (5) years' design experience in the nuclear or chemical process industry.
• Must demonstrate design experience with PLCs and distributed control systems.
• Must have the ability to walk-down of systems in the field.

Preferred Qualifications

• 2D MicroStation Computer-Aided Drafting and Design (CADD).
