Job summary

Gilder Search Group is seeking an I&C Design Engineer to provide design engineering staff augmentation for SRNS. Responsibilities include engineering analysis, design development, and output documents such as P&IDs, control logics, loop diagrams, instrument specifications, and vendor reviews.

The candidate should hold a Ph.D. or MS/BS with extensive experience in I&C design within nuclear or process chemical industries and be proficient with MicroStation 2D CAD.

Qualifications

• Ten years of direct I&C design experience in nuclear or process chemical industries (within last 15 years).
• Experience with process control instrumentation, PLCs and distributed control systems.
• Proficiency in MicroStation 2D CAD.
• Able to perform weekly field walk downs at job site.

Job description

I&C Design Engineer

• Provide design engineering staff augmentation support to SRNS.


• Primary responsibilities include engineering analysis, walkdowns, design development and generation of design output documents including but not limited to: P&IDs; Control Logics; Loop Diagrams; Instrument Indices; Setpoint Lists; Instrument and Control Valve Specifications; DCS and PLC Design; Instrument Location and Installation Design; Panel Layouts; and Vendor Document Review.


• Engineering services shall be provided using SRNS processes and procedures. Programmatic guidance will be provided by SRNS.

• Education: Ph.D. degree in applicable science or engineering discipline and 5+ years’ experience. OR A MS with 8+ years’ experience. OR A BS with 10+ years’ experience or more.

BS Degree in one of the following disciplines: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, I&C Engineering, or current registration as a Professional Engineer in one of the above disciplines.

• The following experience/skills are required for this position:


• Candidate must demonstrate ten (10) years of direct I&C design experience (within the last 15 years) in the nuclear or process chemical industry.


• Candidate must demonstrate design experience with process control instrumentation, PLCs and distributed control systems.


• Proficiency in using MicroStation 2D Computer Aided Drafting and Design (CADD) software is required.


• Additional Work Requirements


• Candidate must be able to perform weekly field walk downs of the job site for the engineering work being performed. These walk downs may involve construction sites with uneven surfaces and work in progress, walking for distances of over half a mile, climbing ladders to access remote areas, and dressing out in protective clothing.
