Job summary

Hoffman Construction Co of America seeks an Instrumentation and Controls Construction Manager to lead the controls scope on a major project at the Childress, TX site. You will oversee subcontractors, coordinate ME P startups, and drive design and constructability reviews from preconstruction through commissioning.

The role requires five years in building automated control systems, experience in hi-tech facilities, and a strong background in coordination with civil/architectural teams.

Qualifications

• Five (5) years of building automated control system construction experience required.
• Experience in industrial and/or hi-tech semiconductor manufacturing projects is required.
• Experience working in a live high-tech facility required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent field and/or experience required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee controls subcontractor installation work daily to ensure on-schedule performance and commissioning activities.
• Coordinate MEP startups with Area Construction Managers and multiple subcontractors.
• Integrate Building Automated Control Systems with civil, architectural, and structural elements.
• Train control personnel in operation and maintenance of BAS.
• Participate in startup meetings to coordinate startup activities across teams and owners.
• Review submittals and assist Engineers in coordinating MEP components.
• Field survey of control lines and benchmarks.
• Assist in estimating BAS budgets and staffing for the project team.
• Secure and manage BAS subcontractors, equipment buyouts, and contracts.
• Oversee billing and schedule of values for BAS subcontractors and vendors.
