Job summary

Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a Mechanical Designer to join a multi-disciplinary team designing a new hypersonic test facility at Arnold Air Force Base, TN.

You will translate engineering data into schematics, generate 2-D drawings and 3-D CAD models, review work, and coordinate with engineers, suppliers and construction teams through concept to commissioning while complying with PPE and DoD standards.

Qualifications

• Two semesters or two years of college with drafting/design courses
• Experience with drafting and design processes is required
• US Citizenship required and active security clearance preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop or review designs from engineering data and prepare schematics, designs, specifications, and parts lists.
• Generate complex 2-D drawings or 3-D CAD models with minimal guidance.
• Handle design tasks with varying complexity.
• Prepare portions of 3-D CAD models under supervision.
• Review calculations, models, and drawings prepared by others.
• Prepare bulk material takeoffs and requisitions for materials.
• Coordinate designs with engineers and other designers.
• Answer client or construction questions on assigned designs.
• Maintain drawing files, records, and drawing controls.
• Foster an open, collaborative work environment.
• Wear PPE as directed by supervision and policy.
• Perform other related duties as required.
