Job summary

Leidos Defense is seeking a Test Engineer to join the Hypersonics team, designing, implementing, and maintaining automated test systems for flight-critical avionics.

The role blends hardware and software, requires CI/CD experience, and collaboration with electrical, software, and mechanical engineers. A BS in engineering and 4+ years of experience, US Citizenship, and ability to obtain DoD clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field
• 4+ years of relevant test engineering experience or 2+ years with a Master’s
• Proficiency in Python, C/C++, or LabVIEW
• Familiar with test automation and CI/CD
• Experience with electronics design and reading schematics

Responsibilities

• Design and implement automated test procedures for avionics hardware components
• Develop test software using Python, C/C++, LabVIEW in CI/CD
• Support hardware-in-the-loop test systems simulating real-world conditions
• Collaborate with electrical, software, and mechanical engineers to optimize performance
• Document test requirements, procedures, and results using digital engineering tools
• Apply 'test-like-you-fly' methodologies to ensure mission requirements
• Troubleshoot issues and provide technical recommendations
• Participate in review boards and technical interchange meetings
