Job summary

Leidos Defense is seeking a Hardware in the Loop Test Engineer to support Hypersonics programs in Huntsville, AL. You will contribute to HWIL test system development, integration, and verification across avionics and embedded hardware.

Required: a Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering, 4+ years in HWIL/SIL, and experience with test automation using Python, C/C++, C#, LabVIEW, MATLAB/Simulink. U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a Secret clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• 4+ years of experience in electrical engineering, test engineering, HWIL/HIL development, avionics, embedded systems, or related discipline.
• Experience developing or supporting automated tests or verification systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical interfaces (analog/digital, serial, Ethernet, power).
• Ability to read schematics and interface docs.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to HWIL test system development and integration for avionics and embedded hardware.
• Develop HWIL architectures and interfaces between system under test and simulated environment.
• Design, integrate, and troubleshoot electrical interfaces and HWIL hardware.
• Develop test cases and automate tests using Python, C/C++, LabVIEW or MATLAB/Simulink.
• Support CI/CD and software regression in HWIL environments.
