Job summary

Leidos Defense seeks a Test Engineer for the CHGB program on the Hypersonics team. You will design automated tests for avionics hardware, develop test software, and support hardware-in-the-loop simulations to validate flight-critical systems.

The role blends hardware and software expertise, requires familiarity with CI/CD, and involves collaboration with electrical, software, and mechanical engineers to meet mission requirements.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • 4+ years of prior relevant experience in test engineering for electronic systems or Master's degree in related field with 2+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C/C++, or LabVIEW.
  • Familiarity with test automation and CI/CD practices.
  • Understanding of electronics design, including reading schematics.
  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing and embedded systems.
  • Knowledge of communication protocols (SPI, I2C, RS232, Ethernet).
  • Ability to use test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, signal generators).
  • Experience with version control systems (Git) and Agile development methods.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Resident of the North Alabama area or willing to relocate to Huntsville, AL area.
  • US Citizenship is required and ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance.

We're seeking a skilled Test Engineer to join our Hypersonics team supporting the Common Hypersonic Glide Body (CHGB) program. The ideal candidate will combine software development capabilities with electrical engineering knowledge to help design, implement, and maintain automated test systems for flight-critical avionics. This role requires a blend of hardware and software expertise, familiarity with CI/CD practices, and the ability to validate complex electronic systems.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Understanding of statistical analysis for test validation
  • Experience with test systems for production environments
  • Familiarity with military standards
  • Prior DoD program experience

Pay Range

Pay Range $87,100.00 - $157,450.00

The Leidos pay range for this job level is a general guideline onlyand not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Additional factors considered in extending an offer include (but are not limited to) responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data, applicable bargaining agreement (if any), or other law.
