SAIC is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to serve as an In-Service Engineering Agent (ISEA) supporting hypersonic weapons systems on Zumwalt-class and Virginia-class platforms. The role acts as a technical authority bridging engineering baselines and fleet operations, coordinating with Fleet Support Representatives and government offices.

The position is 100% remote/work from home with monthly travel to Crane, IN.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience developing ECPs and supporting configuration management processes.
• Familiarity with naval weapons systems, shipboard mechanical systems, or related defense platforms.
• Experience participating in Change Control Boards (CCBs).
• Proficiency in redline drawing development and engineering drawing interpretation.
• Strong technical writing skills for risk statements, assessments, and logistics documents.
• Ability to work with Fleet Support Representatives and government customers.
• Interim secret clearance to start; SAIC sponsors clearance.
• Ability to travel up to 10%.

Responsabilités

• Serve as the primary ISEA for hypersonic weapons systems, providing mechanical engineering expertise across the sustainment lifecycle.
• Review, develop, and maintain technical manuals to ensure accuracy and alignment with current configurations.
• Develop and process ECPs, ensuring changes are technically sound and traceable to requirements.
• Perform configuration management and maintain integrity of baselines.
• Author and update redline drawings reflecting approved changes.
• Develop and review ILA documents to support fleet readiness and sustainment planning.
• Write clear risk statements and recommend mitigations to leadership and customers.
• Participate in and support CCBs, presenting changes and addressing inquiries.
• Collaborate with Fleet Support Representatives to address fleet issues and drive resolutions.
• Ensure alignment between delivered systems and specifications, addressing gaps or non-conformances.
• Support technical reviews, audits, and program milestones per government requirements.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders to support program objectives.
