Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an RF Software Engineering Intern for its 12-week summer program in Germantown, MD. You will assist with design, development and testing of software for aerospace applications, collaborating with experienced engineers on real-world projects.

The role targets students pursuing CS/SE degrees with strong Python/C++/Java skills and familiarity with IDEs. Relocation/housing stipend may be available; ITAR compliance applies.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field.
• Strong foundation in Python, C++, or Java.
• Familiarity with development tools such as Visual Studio, Git, Eclipse.
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and software design principles.
• Demonstrated problem‑solving and analytical skills.
• Able to work both independently and in a team.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with a multidisciplinary team on design, development, and testing of RF software solutions.
• Assist in prototyping and validating software for ground control systems, UIs, data pipelines, and simulations.
• Contribute to software documentation and code reviews.
• Support testing, debugging, and integration of prototype and production systems.
