Job summary

Hermeus is seeking a Powertrain Responsible Engineer to own and develop the mechanical powertrain for hypersonic aircraft. You will drive design, analysis, testing, and qualification of gearboxes, pumps, motors, and generators across programs, coordinating with system owners and manufacturing.

The role demands strong first-principles knowledge in mechanics, thermodynamics, and materials, plus experience with CAD, NX, and ANSYS.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, aerospace, physics or related field.
• Experience using CAD to design parts and assemblies.
• 3+ years of engineering/competition or applied research in fluids or engines.

Responsibilities

• Fully own critical flight hardware.
• Architect and place components within systems.
• Design, analyze, test, and qualify gearboxes, motors and pumps.
• Collaborate with manufacturing to enable production.
