Job summary

Hermeus Corporation seeks a Senior Power Electronics Electrical Engineer to own electrical power architectures for next‑gen hypersonic aircraft. You will lead end‑to‑end flight hardware and ground support systems, mentoring engineers and setting engineering standards across teams.

You will design power electronics, integrate COTS and custom hardware, and work with vendors to advance propulsion and power for hypersonic transport. Expect a fast‑paced, hands‑on environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Electrical Engineering or related field with strong experience in power electronics.
• 5+ years designing electrical components and systems for aerospace or high‑EMI environments.
• Direct experience with high‑voltage DC systems and HV safety procedures.
• Hands‑on hardware integration and lab testing experience.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical power architecture and components from concept to testing.
• Design power electronics for supersonic/hypersonic aircraft applications.
• Collaborate across mechanical and electrical teams to integrate vehicle power systems.
• Mentor engineers and help establish standards, tools, and best practices.
• Support hands‑on hardware assembly, integration and test activities.
• Contribute to rapid prototyping and fast build/test cycles.
