Job summary

Startech Networks Inc. is hiring experienced Structured Cabling Technicians for a hyperscale data center build. This hands-on lead-installer role requires executing all install phases from reel setup to final dressing, with minimal supervision.

Two-person crews work on high-density fiber trunks, copper Ethernet runs, and rack & stack activities. The engagement begins as a contract‑to‑hire on our data center build project.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands‑on structured cabling with increasing responsibility.
• Lead-installer capability: perform full install package with minimal supervision.
• Experience with cable reel handling and jack setup for medium/large fiber trunks.
• OSHA 10 certification; OSHA 30 preferred; scissor lift/aerial lift operation.
• Experience with pass‑throughs, fire‑stop coordination, and cable tray/ladder rack routing.
• Knowledge of MPO and LC connectors; cleaning tools and inspection scopes.

Responsibilities

• Set up cable jacks and reels for MPO, LC, and copper Ethernet pulls.
• Execute overhead cable pulls through ladder rack, trays, sleeves, and pass‑throughs.
• Operate scissor lifts and rolling scaffolds at 12–15 ft heights; dress and manage cables.
• Install and route cable through pass‑through sleeves; verify fire-stop and grommet integrity.
• Patch and label work on MPO/LC terminations; connector cleaning and inspections.
• Assist rack & stack activities; coordinate with PDU installation and grounding.
• Mentor junior installers on technique and safety; maintain tools and reorder needs.
