Job summary

IES Communications in Virginia is hiring for a field installation and data-center support role focused on structured cabling and device rack-and-stack tasks. The position involves installation, testing, labeling, audits, and related warehouse duties to ensure smooth data-center operations.

Candidates must have a High School diploma or GED, 3 years in telecom or a related field, fiber termination capabilities, and at least 6 months of supervisory experience.

Qualifications

• Must possess at least a High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• Minimum of three years of experience in telecommunications or related technical field.
• Must be able to terminate fiber.
• Minimum six months supervisory and/or managerial experience.
• Must possess and be able to effectively use the listed tools.
• Must read and interpret blueprints and project documents.
• Must know universal communications color codes.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and MS Project).
• Must meet company minimum driving standards.

Responsibilities

• Installation of structured cabling related to the build out of Richmond Data Center.
• Installation, testing and labeling of all patching requests.
• Cable Work Order (CWO) document fulfillment and management.
• Weekly, bi-weekly and monthly audits and data center updates.
• Service related call support.
• Device installation and powering (rack and stack).
• Inventory management and asset tagging.
• Shipping and receiving.
• Decommissioning and cable mining.
• Excellent communication with vendors and enterprise personnel.
