Job summary

Hunter Philips Executive Search is seeking an Engineering Manager to lead the technical delivery of hyperscale data center programs across North America, from design through construction, commissioning and handover.

You will coordinate electrical, mechanical, HVAC, civil, fire protection, and controls disciplines, manage consultants and vendors, ensure safety and high technical standards, and mentor engineers as the team scales with the organisation's growth.

Qualifications

• Experience delivering complex engineering programmes from design through handover.
• Strong understanding of HV/MV distribution, UPS, generators, cooling, BMS/EPMS, fire protection, and control systems.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary engineering teams, consultants, contractors, and client stakeholders.
• Strong commercial awareness with experience supporting programme schedules, budgets, procurement, and risk management.
• Knowledge of industry standards (Uptime Institute, NFPA, TIA, IEC).

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of hyperscale data center projects from design to handover.
• Coordinate across electrical, mechanical, HVAC, civil, fire protection, and controls disciplines.
• Partner with programme delivery, construction, commissioning, and operations teams to ensure safe, efficient delivery.
• Manage engineering consultants, EPC contractors, and vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
• Oversee governance, design reviews, value engineering, and change management.
• Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies across multiple projects.
• Support reporting, cost forecasting, schedule management, and metrics.
• Mentor engineers and build leadership capability for future growth.
