Job summary

Meta is seeking a Cloud Production Systems Engineer to join the Data Center Operations team. You will analyze data, develop automation tooling, and drive resolutions to maximize uptime across thousands of servers in a hyperscale environment.

You will collaborate with teams globally, own diagnostic tooling needs, and mentor peers. The role requires travel up to 25% and strong communication across engineering and operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/CE or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years in production systems engineering or related.
• 7+ years with hardware lifecycle management or fleet automation.
• Experience developing automation tooling in Python, Bash, PHP, C, or C++ for Linux at scale.
• Experience with production systems including web servers, databases, storage, messaging.
• Ability to communicate designs in writing and with stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Identify and root cause systemic issues across the cloud server fleet and drive resolutions to maximize uptime and utilization.
• Write, review, and maintain code for diagnostic and cloud automation tooling.
• Own and develop diagnostic tooling requirements for frontline operations.
• Drive escalation process for cloud tooling and hardware issues affecting fleet health.
• Execute operational validation for new cloud product integration.
• Collaborate with cross-functional cloud tooling teams on roadmaps.
• Perform deep data analysis to prioritize cloud automation opportunities.
• Build cross-functional relationships to improve global data center operations.
• Mentor engineers on tooling improvements and processes.
• Travel up to 25% for global support.
