Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Healthcare Technician at Aurora St. Luke's Medical Center—Hyperbaric Medicine. The role supports patient preparation, assists physicians and nurses, and ensures safe operation of hyperbaric procedures.

The position requires a CNA/EMT/Medical Assistant background, a high school diploma, and BLS certification to be obtained if not current. On-site duties include shift options and potential weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• High School Education completed
• At least 1 year of experience as a CNA, EMT or Medical Assistant
• Must be able to pass fitness testing to dive in hyperbaric chamber
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification to be obtained within 6 months if required

Responsibilities

• Prepares patients for exams, transports and provides assistance as required.
• Assists physicians with surgical procedures and wound care.
• Assists RN with patient instructions and communicates needs to physicians/teams.
• Sets up, cleans and maintains treatment rooms and equipment.
• Operates and calibrates hyperbaric and related medical devices as directed.
• Documents wound progression with photos and imaging tools.
• Performs point-of-care tests and monitors blood glucose levels.
