Job summary

Novant Health in Bluffton, SC is seeking a dedicated Hyperbaric Technician to join our wound care team. You will operate hyperbaric chambers, monitor patients, and collaborate with physicians and nurses to deliver safe treatments for chronic wounds and related conditions.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, plus medical field experience and specialized hyperbaric training when possible. This PRN position offers weekend-free hours and a supportive, patient-centered environment.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required; LPN or EMT/Paramedic preferred.
• Minimum 2 years in the medical field.
• Licensed Practical Nurse or EMT/Paramedic preferred.
• Complete NBDHMT/UHMS approved hyperbaric medicine introductory course.
• Certificate of competency in transcutaneous oximetry monitoring required.
• Upon eligibility, pursue CHt certification and maintain.
• Complete an 8-hour wound care course and a preceptorship with a certified wound care nurse.
• Must have patient care experience.

Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor hyperbaric chambers safely.
• Prepare patients and check safety protocols.
• Monitor during dive cycle for oxygen toxicity or barotrauma.
• Perform safety checks and maintenance on equipment.
• Log treatment data and vital signs.
• Assist with patient transfers and wound dressing.
• Respond to emergencies per clinic protocols.
