Job summary

Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, SC, is seeking a Hyperbaric Tech/Wound Care RN to administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy and operate the chamber, ensuring patient safety during treatments and proper documentation.

The role requires an active RN license (ADN or higher) and current BLS certification. Prior wound care and HBOT experience are preferred, with responsibilities including data entry, safety participation, and coordination with the Hyperbaric Provider.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state where you practice.
• Graduate from an accredited nursing program (Associate's degree or higher).
• Current BLS provider certification (AHA or Red Cross).
• Prior wound care and hyperbaric oxygen therapy experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider.
• Operate and monitor the hyperbaric chamber and related systems.
• Document daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care visits accurately.
• Assist with safety drills and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Obtain prior authorization from insurance companies.
• Perform other wound care duties as required.

Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Hyperbaric Tech/Wound Care Registered Nurse at our Advanced Wound Care Clinic, you will administer hyperbaric oxygen therapy to patients as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider. This position is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the hyperbaric chamber(s) and related support systems, as well as for the safe delivery of hyperbaric oxygen therapy to the hyperbaric patient.

What you will do in this job:

• Prepares, educates and orients patients about the Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy. This includes lifting or transferring patients per local policy, getting them ready for treatment administration and answering their questions.
• Administers the hyperbaric oxygen therapy as prescribed by the Hyperbaric Provider to the patient. This includes monitoring and controlling the performance of the hyperbaric chamber equipment, as well as monitoring the patient(s)’responses during the session and making proper adjustments to ensure the patient’s safety and the safe and effective use of the equipment.
• Makes appropriate data entries for daily hyperbaric treatments and wound care clinic visits and keeps complete and accurate patient records as they pertain to treatment documentation, to include photo uploading.
• Operates and maintains the hyperbaric chamber and other hyperbaric support oxygen systems as required
• Participates in the safety program activities such as assisting with safety drills
• Obtains prior authorization from insurance companies.
• Performs other wound care duties as required

What may be required for this job:

• Participating in quality improvement initiatives, providing education to the patient or caregiver, and serving as a patient advocate in the delivery and coordination of the patient care
• Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing: Associate's Degree in Nursing or higher is required
• Must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state which you practice and/or hold an active Compact/Multi‑State RN license
• A current American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS) Health Care Provider is required
• Prior Wound Care experience
• Prior Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy experience
