Job summary

Coweta Dentistry in Newman, GA is seeking a Hygiene Assistant to support hygienists and ensure patients are prepared for treatment. You will communicate patient needs to the Hygienist and help with chair-side tasks, records, and instruments.

Responsibilities include taking X-rays, sterilizing equipment, prepping rooms, arranging referrals, and guiding patients on post-operative care. Must be detail oriented, with strong customer service and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified and Expanded Functions Dental Assistant.
• Experience with dental/medical technology.
• Detail oriented and organized.
• Excellent customer service and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Team player who can work independently.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Current CPR certification will be required.

Coweta Dentistry is looking for a Hygiene Assistant to join our team!

As a Hygiene Assistant, you will ensure the hygienists are set up for success prior to interfacing patients and during patient procedures. The Hygiene Assistant clearly communicates to the Hygienist - the patients' needs/request and other education, procedures, diagnosis, and treatment related matters prior to treatment. The Hygiene Assistant performs a variety of patient care and office duties in addition to performing work chair-side as the Dentist examines and Hygienist treats patients and works proactively to ensure the Dentist clinical/hygiene needs are met. The Hygiene Assistant is responsible for making patients comfortable as they are seated in the dental chair, preparing the patient for treatment, and obtaining the accurate patient dental records. Some other Hygiene Assistants' responsibilities are taking x-rays, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, cleaning rooms, preparing referrals, preparing trays, confirming appointments, and instructing patients on postoperative and general oral health care.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
