Job summary

Coweta Dentistry is seeking a Hygiene Assistant to join our team in Newman, GA. You will support hygienists by setting up before procedures and assisting chair-side, while ensuring accurate patient records and comfort throughout visits.

You will take X-rays, sterilize instruments, prepare rooms and referrals, and educate patients on oral health care. Strong organization and customer service are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Certified Expanded Functions Dental Assistant status required.
• Experience with dental/medical technology preferred.
• Must be detail oriented and organized.
• Excellent customer service skills and ability to work under pressure.
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Current CPR certification.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the hygienists are set up for success prior to patient interfacing and during procedures.
• Communicate patient needs, requests, and education to the Hygienist.
• Perform chair-side assisting and office duties; obtain accurate patient records.
• Take x-rays, sterilize and disinfect instruments, and prepare treatment rooms.
• Prepare referrals and trays; confirm appointments and educate patients on oral health care.

Coweta Dentistry is looking for a Hygiene Assistant to join our team!

As a Hygiene Assistant, you will ensure the hygienists are set up for success prior to interfacing patients and during patient procedures. The Hygiene Assistant clearly communicates to the Hygienist - the patients' needs/request and other education, procedures, diagnosis, and treatment related matters prior to treatment. The Hygiene Assistant performs a variety of patient care and office duties in addition to performing work chair-side as the Dentist examines and Hygienist treats patients and works proactively to ensure the Dentist clinical/hygiene needs are met. The Hygiene Assistant is responsible for making patients comfortable as they are seated in the dental chair, preparing the patient for treatment, and obtaining the accurate patient dental records. Some other Hygiene Assistants' responsibilities are taking x-rays, sterilizing and disinfecting instruments and equipment, cleaning rooms, preparing referrals, preparing trays, confirming appointments, and instructing patients on postoperative and general oral health care.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
