Job summary

Daemen University in Town of Amherst, NY is seeking an Instructional Designer to enhance courses for online, hybrid, and HyFlex delivery on campus. You will partner with faculty and SMEs to design accessible, technology-enhanced learning experiences.

The role involves managing course development projects, reviewing courses, using Blackboard and tools like Articulate 360 or Camtasia, and supporting accessibility per ADA and Universal Design for Learning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, or related disciplines.
• Experience with course design aimed at actively engaging students and meeting the needs of adult learners preferred.
• Experience with conducting online course reviews and communicating results and recommendations.
• Familiarity with ADDIE, Backward Design, and formative feedback practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively and independently as needed.
• Proficiency with Blackboard or similar LMS platforms.
• Expertise in MS Office and Google Drive.
• Experience working on project teams to accomplish tasks and milestones as delineated.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty to develop or convert courses for online, hybrid, and HyFlex learning modalities.
• Collaborate with SMEs to identify, design, and develop course materials using Backward Design.
• Review existing courses and offer recommendations for refinement based on best practices.
• Develop online lesson materials using faculty content, software applications, and Blackboard.
• Support faculty in using instructional technology for course development.
• Aid faculty in preparing online courses for QM quality review.
• Provide timely formative feedback to enhance face-to-face and online courses.
• Lead instructional workshops and presentations on innovative strategies.
• Develop engaging content (video, audio, interactive) with faculty.
• Manage project timelines for instructional design projects.
• Stay informed about instructional technologies and Universal Design for Learning.
