Job summary

Southeast Connections (SEC) in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Hydrovac CDL Operator to operate the on-board hydro-vacuum system and perform non-destructive excavation around sensitive underground piping and cables. The role includes equipment maintenance, site safety, and travel as needed.

Requirements include a CDL-A or CDL-B with Tanker endorsement, OSHA-10 certification, a high school diploma or equivalent, and the ability to lift 60 pounds. Flexible hours and field navigation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; OSHA-10 safety card certification required.
• If OSHA-10 not held, company will pay for online training within 5 days of hiring.
• Underground utility or construction experience is a plus.
• Must be at least 21 years old.

Responsibilities

• Operate the hydro-vacuum system for non-destructive excavation around underground piping and cables.
• Document all required company, federal, state and customer paperwork clearly and legibly.
• Lead and direct subordinate personnel to perform duties safely and efficiently.
• Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs on equipment as needed.
• Travel out of town and out of state to work as required.
• Lift/push/pull 60+ pounds and work with heavy equipment.
• Communicate with on-site customer representatives to park equipment safely.
• Work flexible hours as needed.
