Job summary

Job description

Key Responsibilities
Hydrotesting Operations

Operate hydrostatic test pumps, high-pressure equipment, compressors, valves, hoses,

manifolds, and related equipment.

Perform pipeline and piping system filling, pressure testing, pressure monitoring, and

controlled depressurization.

Set up and break down hydrotest equipment at job sites.

Verify test equipment, hoses, fittings, valves, and connections are properly installed and

rated for the required pressure.

Conduct pressure tests according to approved test procedures, test packages, customer

requirements, and project specifications.

Monitor pressure, temperature, test duration, and system conditions throughout testing

operations.

Identify and report leaks, pressure loss, equipment issues, or unsafe conditions

immediately.

Assist with flushing, drying, dewatering, and other hydrotest-related activities as

required.

Maintain proper communication with the Field Foreman and other crew members during

testing operations.

Safety Responsibilities

Follow all company, customer, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements.

Participate in Job Safety Analysis (JSA), toolbox meetings, pre-job safety meetings, and

required training.

Inspect work areas and equipment before beginning operations.

Maintain proper exclusion zones and ensure personnel remain clear of pressurized

systems.

Never exceed the rated working pressure of equipment, hoses, fittings, or test

components.

Wear and properly maintain all required PPE.

Immediately stop work and notify supervision when an unsafe condition exists.

Follow proper lockout/tagout, confined-space, excavation, and other applicable safety

procedures.

Equipment & Maintenance

Perform daily inspections of trucks, pumps, hoses, valves, generators, tanks, gauges, and

other hydrotest equipment.

Maintain equipment in a clean, safe, and operational condition.

Check fluid levels, fittings, connections, hoses, and pump components before and after

each job.

Report damaged, defective, or missing equipment to the Field Foreman.

Assist with routine maintenance and troubleshooting.

Properly load, secure, transport, and unload equipment and materials.

Documentation

Accurately complete hydrotest reports, pressure charts, inspection forms, equipment

inspection records, and daily field documentation.

Record test pressures, test times, temperatures, system identification, and test results as

required.

Maintain accurate records of equipment and materials used on each project.

Communicate test results and any deficiencies to the Field Foreman.

Qualifications

Previous experience in hydrotesting, pipeline construction, industrial services, oil & gas,

or a related field preferred.

Experience operating high-pressure pumps and hydrotest equipment preferred.

Ability to read and understand test procedures, drawings, pressure charts, and equipment

specifications.

Basic mechanical and troubleshooting skills.

Ability to work safely around high-pressure systems and industrial equipment.

Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.

Ability to pass required drug/alcohol screening, background requirements, and customer

site qualifications.

Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Ability to work extended hours, weekends, holidays, and overtime when required by

project schedules.

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, climb, and work around industrial equipment for

extended periods.

Ability to lift and carry tools, hoses, fittings, and equipment up to 80 lbs. or as required.

Ability to work around heavy equipment, vehicles, pumps, pressurized systems, and

industrial work sites.

Ability to wear required PPE for extended periods.

Ability to safely perform job duties in outdoor and potentially remote work

environments.

Work Environment

This position is primarily field-based and may require travel to pipeline, oil & gas, industrial,

construction, and other customer locations. Work may involve exposure to heavy equipment,

high-pressure systems, noise, dust, mud, extreme temperatures, and other industrial job-site

conditions.
