Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Charlotte, NC is seeking a Hydropower Structural EIT/Designer to support design and analysis of reinforced concrete and structural steel under the Hydropower Engineering group.

You will work with Senior Engineers and inspectors on construction and documentation tasks to advance power infrastructure. The role requires a Bachelor’s in Structural Engineering, and an EIT or the ability to obtain it within 6 months.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering required.
• EIT certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months. Candidates hired without their EIT have the title of Hydropower Structural Designer.
• Previous structural design experience (internship or full-time) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Engineer with the design and analysis of reinforced concrete and/or structural steel.
• Assist the Senior Engineer with compiling engineering reports and memos.
• Assist with note taking and photo documentation of active construction.
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of ACI and AISC industry standard techniques and procedures
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
• Perform administrative duties associated with project management for structural design projects
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
• Be self-motivated and be able to work independently as well as with a project team to completion of a task
• Perform other duties as needed
