Job summary

HDR's Hydropower Engineering group in Charlotte, NC invites applications for a Hydropower Structural EIT/Designer. You will collaborate with structural engineers, assist with design and analysis of reinforced concrete and structural steel, and contribute to construction documentation and project management.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, an EIT or the drive to obtain it within 6 months, and prior structural design experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering required.
• EIT certificate or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Master's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering preferred.
• Previous structural design experience is a plus.
• Local candidates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Senior Engineer with the design and analysis of reinforced concrete and/or structural steel.
• Assist the Senior Engineer with compiling engineering reports and memos.
• Assist with note taking and photo documentation of active construction.
• Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of ACI and AISC industry standard techniques and procedures.
• Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables.
• Perform administrative duties associated with project management for structural design projects.
• Work independently on small projects, or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects.
• Be self-motivated and able to work independently as well as with a project team to completion of a task.
• Perform other duties as needed.
