Job summary

Sterling Industrial LLC. seeks a Mechanical Engineer to lead mechanical scope engineering, coordination, and technical oversight on a complex EPC hydro project in the Phoenix area.

You will work with design consultants and stakeholders to ensure design integrity for underground powerhouse, tunnels, and surface facilities. The role requires hands-on collaboration, design development, constructability reviews, and support during construction and commissioning.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering (BS or MS) with overall experience of 10 years.
• Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in MEP design for large power/industrial projects and experience on hydropower projects.

Responsibilities

• Perform and review mechanical design for systems and equipment across hydro facilities.
• Coordinate mechanical designs with civil/geotechnical, architectural, and construction teams.
• Interface with OEMs for integration into the project.
• Provide construction and commissioning support, including RFIs and field changes.
• Review and approve mechanical deliverables for compliance with codes and customer requirements.
• Participate in design reviews, safety in design workshops, and hazid/hazop reviews.
