Job summary

ANDRITZ is seeking a Proposal Manager to lead the development of winning bids for hydropower turbines, generators, and related equipment in the US. You will guide technical and commercial discussions, manage a multi-disciplinary team, and ensure proposals align with business objectives.

The role requires strong organizational skills to navigate the sales process, secure internal approvals, and deliver high-quality proposals while coordinating with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 5–10 years of hydropower or related industry experience including commercial, project management and commissioning
• Willingness to travel domestically up to 25%
• Solid knowledge of proposal development, estimating procedures, and construction practices
• Strong technical skills and ability to read technical drawings
• Comfort leading a project team and balancing technical needs with economics
• Ability to negotiate commercial terms and conditions for bids
• Strong written and verbal communication of product and pricing details

Responsibilities

• Develop and present sales proposals based on customer requirements and bid strategies
• Review RFQ terms against internal guidelines and identify commercial risk and mitigation
• Attend pre-bid conferences and establish bidding strategies
• Address technical and commercial issues in the bid process
• Coordinate with departments, subcontractors, and customers
• Create project schedules and cost evaluations for bid preparation
• Evaluate and negotiate commercial terms for bids
• Participate in meetings with customers, consultants, subcontractors, and affiliates
