Job summary

SLB New Energy & Industrial (NEI) invites applications for a Hydrometallurgical Process Engineer in Sugar Land, TX. You will perform process engineering calculations, develop design basis, and coordinate with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver process systems within budget and schedule.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering; Master’s or PhD preferred.
  • 7–10 years of process engineering experience in hydrometallurgy.
  • Exposure to critical minerals flowsheets (e.g. lithium, nickel, cobalt, copper, rare earths) desired.
  • Experience with process simulations, P&IDs, BFD, PFDs, heat and material balance, equipment datasheets and design basis.
  • Ability to design, scale up and optimize hydrometallurgical circuits (ion exchange, solvent extraction, precipitation, solid-liquid separation, evaporation).
  • Experience with equipment selection, BOM, cost estimation, documentation and control philosophies.

Responsibilities

  • Review client specifications during proposal phase and raise clarifications.
  • Create design basis, project specifications and philosophies.
  • Perform process engineering and deliverables conforming to project specs and standards.
  • Define material selection for piping and equipment; support cost estimation.
  • Lead and assist other process engineers on deliverables and reviews.
  • Participate in safety studies such as HAZOP, HAZID, and SIL.
  • Provide inputs to other disciplines and attend engineering meetings.
