Geosyntec Consultants is seeking a Hydrogeology Intern for the Tampa or Clearwater, FL offices during fall 2026. The role blends fieldwork with office tasks to apply hydrogeologic knowledge in real-world settings.

The position is part-time for about 13 to 15 weeks. Candidates should be enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program with a hydrogeology/geology/environmental geology focus and may be asked to return for additional rotations during studies.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in an applicable field.
  • Degree focus areas in hydrogeology, geology, geochemistry, or environmental geology (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct fieldwork (up to 80%) including soil and groundwater sampling, aquifer testing, and drilling oversight.
  • Assist with geologic/hydrogeologic calculations using computer-based tools.
  • Prepare and draft technical reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specs, and proposals.
  • Input data and generate maps, tables, and figures for analyses.
  • Support engineering calculations using computer-based tools.
  • Interact with engineers, geologists, office staff, CADD operators, contractors, and field personnel.
  • Travel locally to project sites as needed.
  • Transport to client or project sites using personal or company vehicles.
