Job summary

The GEL Group, Inc. in Charleston, SC seeks a Hydrogeologist to join our environmental team. The role focuses on project management for wastewater regulatory matters, contaminant investigations, and site assessments across diverse clients.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of environmental experience, SC/NC geology licensure, strong technical writing, and proven leadership. We value safety, integrity, and delivering defensible data on time.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering, or related scientific field of study.
• A North or South Carolina Licensed Geologist.
• Eight years of professional environmental experience with supervision of investigations/remediation.
• Registered Site Manager (RSM) in NC DEQ program is a plus.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage proposals, work plans, and reports; oversee project team assignments; field activities; and financial administration.
• Prepare proposals with problem statements, scopes, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to prepare site assessments and remediation plans; perform data interpretation and recommendations.
• Conduct thorough technical writing reviews of reports.
• Communicate findings to clients and regulatory agencies and participate in meetings as a representative.
• Provide QA oversight and management of groundwater, soil, surface water, PFAS investigations and regulatory permits.
