Job summary

The GEL Group, Inc. in Charleston, SC seeks a Hydrogeologist to join our environmental team. The role focuses on project management for wastewater regulatory matters, contaminant investigations, and site assessments across diverse clients.

Ideal candidates have 8+ years of environmental experience, SC/NC geology licensure, strong technical writing, and proven leadership. We value safety, integrity, and delivering defensible data on time.

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science or Master’s degree in geology, hydrogeology, environmental engineering, or related scientific field of study.
A North or South Carolina Licensed Geologist.
Eight years of professional environmental experience with supervision of investigations/remediation.
Registered Site Manager (RSM) in NC DEQ program is a plus.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Manage proposals, work plans, and reports; oversee project team assignments; field activities; and financial administration.
Prepare proposals with problem statements, scopes, cost estimates, and schedules.
Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to prepare site assessments and remediation plans; perform data interpretation and recommendations.
Conduct thorough technical writing reviews of reports.
Communicate findings to clients and regulatory agencies and participate in meetings as a representative.
Provide QA oversight and management of groundwater, soil, surface water, PFAS investigations and regulatory permits.
