Job summary

Montgomery & Associates seeks a full‑time Hydrogeologist in Tucson, AZ, combining field and office work. The role focuses on water well drilling, lithologic characterization, well construction, sampling, and aquifer testing with potential growth into project management and leadership.

Ideal candidates have 4–7 years of hydrogeology site characterization, a geology/hydrology degree, and experience with well drilling, construction, and testing.

Qualifications

• 4–7 years of hydrogeological site characterization experience.
• Experience with well drilling, construction, and testing.
• Eligibility for registration as a Professional Geologist in the USA.
• Willingness to travel to out-of-town field locations.
• Able to work up to 14 hours per day; field tours may last 1 day–2 weeks.

Responsibilities

• Logistical planning and supervision of field tasks for hydrogeological characterization studies.
• Providing technical guidance on field tasks under the supervision of a field project manager.
• Overseeing well installation and development; inspecting materials and coordinating drilling activities.
• Observing and documenting well development and pump installation.
• Leading aquifer tests and other field investigations with guidance and support.
• Measuring water levels and maintaining project datasets.
• Preparing data summaries, presentations, and technical reports.
• Participating in client meetings to present program results.
