Job summary

Air Products & Chemicals’ Sacramento facility is seeking a Plant Operations Technician to support Liquid hydrogen for Transport and Gaseous H2 production. You will perform safe, compliant operations, calibrate process analyzers, and load LHY trailers.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, plus a Process Technology certificate or degree. Strong teamwork and basic computer skills are essential. This is a safety-sensitive position with 12-hour rotating shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Process Technology certificate or degree (plus).
• Relevant military experience/training.
• Ability to read and understand piping and instrumentation drawings.
• Basic computer proficiency (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Electrical, instrument or mechanical maintenance experience (plus).
• Strong teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Fulfill outside and inside operations tasks to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operation.
• Issue Safety Work Permits, implement Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures, and manage field execution of maintenance contractors.
• Follow Site Work Instruction Manuals and adhere to Environmental, Health & Safety Standards.
• Collaborate with engineering functions to solve plant process issues and improve unit efficiency.
• Perform routine rounds and preventative maintenance tasks.
• Conduct water treatment tests for boiler and cooling water systems.
• Maintain training program requirements and certifications.
• Calibrate and operate process analyzers.
• Load LHY trailers.
• This is a safety-sensitive position.
