Job summary

WECTEC Staffing Services seeks a Structural Project Engineer to support hydroelectric dam reconstruction and upgrades in a multi-year portfolio. Hybrid schedule based in Minneapolis, MN, with travel to Wisconsin project sites.

You will liaison between engineering and construction teams, ensuring safety, quality, and project execution. The role requires ABET-accredited Structural/Civil engineering, 5–7 years in structural engineering, and 5+ years supporting construction projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in ABET-accredited Structural or Civil Engineering.
• 5–7 years of structural engineering experience (steel and concrete).
• 5+ years supporting construction or infrastructure projects.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
• Access and review native CAD files (MicroStation preferred).
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Provide structural engineering support for hydroelectric dam reconstruction and upgrade projects.
• Be the on-site technical liaison between engineering, construction, and project management teams.
• Review structural steel and reinforced concrete designs and construction activities.
• Support issue resolution in the field and ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
• Collaborate with construction management teams, engineering consultants, and contractors.
• Participate in regular site visits to monitor progress and address technical challenges.
• Help with document management and coordination using SharePoint and project systems.
• Support project planning and coordination activities across multiple workstreams.
• Mentor junior staff or interns.
