Job summary

Brookfield Asset Management Inc. is seeking a Hydroelectric Power Technician, Operations, to support the Bear Swamp project.

The role involves rotating shifts including weekends and holidays, with on-site work in Rowe, MA, focusing on day-to-day operating activities and maintaining hydro turbine/generator systems. Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic components, following safety and environmental policies, and coordinating with crews to improve unit

Qualifications

English communication skills (oral and written).
Ability to learn Windows-based software including MS Outlook, Excel, and Word.
Ability to learn PI Historian and IFS programs used for the position.
Must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to travel for employer business purposes.
Associates degree in electrical engineering tech or related field preferred.
Knowledge of hydro generating units and AC power circuits.
Experience with hydro turbine/generator systems and maintenance preferred.

Responsibilities

Operate and assist in day-to-day operating activities for the Bear Swamp Project.
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Support safe work practices and environmental policies.
Maintain basic inventory control on spare parts and equipment.
Monitor equipment quality and report issues from disassembly to commissioning.
