Qualifications

• 3+ years of related mechanical engineering experience in industrial settings.
• Ability to operate and maintain large scale test equipment.
• Strong fluid dynamics and mechanical design background.
• Proficiency in CAD and FEA.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement solutions for large-scale hydromechanical testing systems.
• Collaborate with government and contractor staff from diverse backgrounds.
• Troubleshoot electromechanical equipment, identify root causes, and improve efficiency.
• Recommend cost-effective design changes to improve reliability and safety.
• Conduct periodic quality checks and plan repairs.
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and systems for problems.
• Repair faulty equipment and damaged structures.
• Inspect and maintain plumbing systems for operation.
• Consult on design limitations and test facility specs.
• Design test appurtenances and rigs for mounting scale models.
• Interpret engineering drawings and diagrams.
• Provide technical solutions to mechanical problems.
• Operate large machinery and testing facilities like the Large Cavitation Channel; follow safety procedures.
• Be prepared to work occasional second or third shifts to support testing.
