Job summary

Idaho Power is hiring two Generation Specialist Apprentices to support our CJ Strike and Shoshone Falls plant crews. These roles train to perform preventative and corrective maintenance on hydro facilities, ensuring safe, reliable power for Idaho communities.

Apprentice I or II duties include working in a team, responding to emergencies, and rotating on-call. We offer competitive pay, benefits, a 401k match and a pension plan, with opportunities to advance toward a regular power plant position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Experience in electrical, generation, or power plants (IPC Pre-Apprentice preferred).
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on hydro facilities, buildings, and related equipment.
• Operate and maintain power plant equipment and tests, ensuring safe, reliable operation.
• Respond to emergencies during and outside normal hours and take corrective action.
• Provide guidance to other operators and support load-serving operations.
• Maintain high productivity and accountability in a team-based environment.
