Job summary

RJ MacLean Energy Services seeks an experienced Hydro Excavation Operator to safely operate hydro excavation equipment and expose underground utilities at job sites in the Freeport/Houston area.

The ideal candidate has 3-5 years of hydro excavation experience, a valid CDL Class A and TWIC card, and a strong commitment to safe work practices. Travel to job sites, overtime, weekends, and on-call shifts are expected.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of hydro excavation experience are required.
• Valid CDL, Class A and TWIC card are required.
• Clean motor vehicle record (MVR) is preferred.
• Endorsements beyond the basics are an asset.
• Mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
• Able to work outdoors, lift up to 50 lbs, and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
• Clear communication with crewmembers, supervisors and clients.
• OSHA 10-hour construction safety certification is an asset; willingness to obtain required certifications.
• Candidate must be local to Freeport or Houston area.

Responsibilities

• Operate hydro excavation equipment safely and efficiently.
• Expose underground utilities using precise potholing techniques.
• Help set up work sites, including traffic control and utility locates.
• Remove and dispose of soil and debris appropriately.
• Complete daily equipment inspections, cleaning and routine maintenance.
• Follow company and site safety requirements; report incidents promptly.
• Keep accurate work and equipment logs.
