Job summary

STV is seeking an enthusiastic Hydraulics Engineering Intern to join our team in a hybrid position with in-office time three days per week. You will support engineers on transportation and infrastructure projects focused on hydrology, hydraulics, and stormwater management.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering with ABET accreditation and have coursework in hydraulics or water resources. This role offers hands-on experience.

Qualifications

• Pursuing ABET-accredited civil or environmental engineering degree.
• Interest in hydraulics, hydrology, stormwater, or water resources.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Assist in hydrologic and hydraulic analyses for transportation and infrastructure projects.
• Support the development of stormwater management reports and drainage studies.
• Assist with storm drain, culvert, and erosion control design tasks.
• Use HEC-RAS, StormCAD, or similar software for tasks.
• Prepare drawings in MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, or AutoCAD.
• Format reports, calculations, and specifications for documentation.
• Support project file management and document organization.
• Gain exposure to permitting processes including NPDES and local stormwater rules.
• Learn company software and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
